Bikes for kids-collect gently-used bicycles from community donors; bikes are refurbished by volunteers; distributed for children in need back to school-through donations from the business community and individuals new back packs with starter kits of school supplies are distributed throughout the county funding streams: various grants are distributed to qualifying agencies for programming and service support; agencies must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and services matched to united way's mandate of reducing poverty helping kids be all they can be and building healthy communities.
