The societys purpose is to organize and produce forums in whistler and the surrounding communities for the presentation of works and literature including writing festivals writers in residence programs and writers in schools programs. The society provides instructional seminars and workshops on topics related to writing and and literature; and supports promotes and ecourages local canadian writers in their vocation. The majority of funds raised are used to fund the society's annual whistler writers festival.
