Literacy projects in Odisha India continue as in previous years. There are five villages that are involved in instructing students in community shared areas because VLP does not have their own buildings. There are 6 teachers each with 12 to 20 students mostly from the primary grades. They use government curriculum but spend only 2 hours in class. This time is focussed on academics so that students can have time to help their families at home or in the fields. Annual government exams show that students progress well with this arrangement.
