Education of the naval family (veterans reserves cadets) and the public about the history of the rcn emphasizing its role on the west coast from the past to the future. An ongoing project is building a monument to honour local shipbuilders. It will be installed in the shipyard district of north vancouver. Preservation of artifacts archival documents and photographs about the rcn and in particular about hmcs discovery and the naval officers association of bc (now the naval association of bc) as well as a library of naval history books and teaching manuals.
