VARC has 2 main programs - Bird Research and Public Outreach and Education. We continued with both of these in 2021. The bird research includes a banding station at Colony Farm Park a large Bluebird nest box project in Merritt and a number of hummingbird banding projects. Our public outreach includes courses field trips for the public a large schools program and significant social media programs to educate people about the environment.
