The university of windsor an education institution funded principally by grants from the province of ontario and tuition fees charged to its' student is registered as a charitable institution so that gifts for scholarships prizes for scholastic achievements and other gifts (e.g to purchase library books gifts to building funds) may be recognized by an offical receipt which may be used by the donors for income tax purposes.
