Founded in 1912 the winnipeg art gallery (the 'gallery') is a public art gallery with a mandate to encourage and promote the visual art heritage of manitoba. The gallery collects preserves exhibits and make accessible works of art by manitoba canadian and international artists. In addition the gallery provides educational programs in the creation and interpretation of visual art.
