The summer institute of church music (sicm) offers summer study in whitby ontario for amateur and professional church musicians. All board members are volunteers no paid staff. Every two years as part of the above summer event sicm conducts the osborne organ competition. The 1st and 2nd place winners are presented with a monetary prize to support advanced study in organ and/or church music. Sicm provides funding and resources to enable deserving students and individuals to attend the sicm week-long summer session. This program is known as the sicm bursary program.
