In its own words
The branch provides youth programs for children ages 9 to 12 years of age. Organized as navy league cadets the children are trained in a naval manner in citizenship leadership seamanship band and range. All uniforms and equipment are provided free of charge on loan to cadets. All officers and executive members are screened volunteers who provide instruction and guidance to the cadets. The cadets parade every friday evening for the duration of september through may.
