The Greater Fundy Ground Search & Rescue Association Inc. is a charitable organization based in Berwick, New Brunswick, classified by the CRA under protective health care. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, it reported $15K in revenue and $17K in expenditures. Spending exceeded revenue that year — the gap came out of reserves.

Its funding that year was roughly 59% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2020, 2 other registered charities reported granting it a combined $5,048.

Revenue has grown substantially over its filings on record here, from $2,873 in 2020 to $15K in 2024. Its filed list of directors and trustees shows 1 name.

In its own words

We continue to assist the rcmp and emo in responding and rescue emergencies in our community and to emo community emergencies requiring our services(ice storms flood fire etc.). We offer preventative and educational programs to the public through adventures smart like 'hug a tree' to local children and youth focusing on wilderness survival. We provide training to our search and rescue volunteers.
