The Erris Volunteer Fire Association is a charitable organization based in Princeton, British Columbia, classified by the CRA under protective health care. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, it reported $595K in revenue and $394K in expenditures.
Its funding that year was roughly 84% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2024, 1 other registered charity reported granting it a combined $972.

Revenue has grown substantially over its filings on record here, from $44K in 2020 to $595K in 2024. Its filed list of directors and trustees shows 8 names.
In its own words
The erris volunteer fire association continues to operate a community fire department that provides emergency medical first response services and protection prevention and supression services to the community of erris and our mutual aid partners. We have 25 volunteers who help deliver this service to the community responding to approx 25 to 30 emergency calls per year. These volunteers meet for a 2 hour fire/medical practice once a week and the leadership (directors and officers) also volunteer their time to participate in other planning / management meetings throughout the year.
