Launch of a major national archive and a national exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1923 chinese exclusion act. The exhibition opened on july 1 2023 in the new chinese canadian museum. The archive also went live at the same time and made available online over 450 early chinese identity documents and stories that were crowdsourced from across canada. An additional 275 identity documents were gathered over the past year (july 1 2023-june 30 2024) and will be added to the archive.
