The cha is a bilingual scholarly organization dedicated to research in all fields of history. It is the largest association of it's kind in canada. The cha oversees a vigorous publication program it lobbies government archivist and museums in canada and elswhere on issues related to the preservation and availability of historic records. It organizes an annaul conference in which historians showcase their research it supports graduate students pursuing degress in history. And it offers a number of prizes to recognise and promote excellence in hisotircal scholarship
