The purpose of the museum is to collect preserve study and make accessible in the museum and online the material and cultural heritage ( artifacts stories programming) of the ottawa regions indigenous multicultural and diverse history. Through this the museum promotes interest in and appreciation for the history of bytown. We offer daily educational programs for museum visitors. A newly updated permanent exhibition is available in 3 languages including anishnabemowin. Annually we present at least one new temporary exhibition and one community gallery exhibition.
