Each air cadet in 581 is placed in a proficiency level based on their age and are required to complete the mandatory and scheduled complementary training for their level. In addition cadets can chose to participate in glider and powered aircraft flights effective speaking first and range practice and extra activities such as the duke of edinburgh program hikes and overnight trips.
