The presbytery is the regional organization of hte presbyterian church in canada. As such itis the court for the local presbyterian churches. The court consists of representatives from all the local churches (the minister and one representative elder - a lay person). The court meets regularly a number of times a year and sometimes on an emergent basis to provide guidance and direction to the congregations.
