Pen canada works for the right for freedom of expression by raising awareness on behalf of writers around the world who have been imprisoned or persecuted for the peaceful expressions of their views. In canada pen works to oppose censorship by communicating with elected officials and through public media about freedom of expression. Pen canada also helps exiled writers to establish new lives in canada.
