Our Story Literacy and brain development are crucial globally starting from early childhood. Over 40 years ago the founders of One Step Learning began advocating for early childhood literacy in Calgary and Edmonton after immigrating from Ghana. With support from a Canadian couple they enrolled their children in licensed daycare despite high costs and minimal subsidies. They saw the benefits of early literacy when their children quickly developed.
