To preserve historic buildings interpret the history of the woolen and textile industries and to provide a centre for the study of industrial textiles and well as providing an historical account of mill workers. Raising funds by way of events such as fibrefest and soup for thought. Displaying current art exhibits and historical textile exhibits in the museum.
