It cooperated with other libraries in the province in sharing library resources and improving library services. Marigold encouraged the development of active library boards and member libraries. It purchased books periodcals newspapers and other articles of educational cultural recreational and artistic value deemed necessary for the libraries. Support groups were involved in furthering library service locally provincially and nationally
