Lire et faire lire Acadie is a charitable organization based in Moncton, New Brunswick, classified by the CRA under support of schools and education. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending April 30, 2023, it reported $16K in revenue and $58K in expenditures. Spending exceeded revenue that year — the gap came out of reserves.
Its funding that year was roughly 12% from donations, 81% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2024, 1 other registered charity reported granting it a combined $4.
Revenue has declined over its filings on record here, from $57K in 2020 to $16K in 2023. Its filed list of directors and trustees shows 16 names.
