Le chez nous des artistes inc. (l'«organisme») est un organisme sans but lucratif constitué selon la partie iii de la loi sur les compagnies du québec le 23 juillet 1982. Il est un organisme de bienfaisance aux fins fiscales et est exempté de l'impôt sur le revenu. Ses objets tels qu'ils furent modifiés le 6 novembre 2008 par lettres patentes supplémentaires sont les suivants : établir et exploiter un lieu de retraite à loyer modique pour les artistes à faible revenu les personnes à faibles revenus du milieu artistique et culturel du québec et les autres personnes âgées à faible revenu.
