In its own words

The focus of the lanark county food bank remains the monthly provision of nutritional food to supplement our clients' requirements. The food bank relies solely upon public donations of food and funds to meet our operating costs. On average the food bank receives 3000 kg of food per month and distributes 6000 kg. The food bank purchases the difference with donated funds. As the result of a significant donation reduction in 2010 the board of directors voted to retain a minimum financial reserve of six months operation costs to help ensure continuous service to our clients.
