The kamloops and district humane society assists companion animals in distress whether they are abandoned injured feral or homeless. Animals are placed into family run foster homes given medical treatment spayed or neutered vaccinated and tattooed or microchipped before being placed into permanent loving homes. The society operates the big fix spay and neuter program which assists people to have their pets sterilized. This very successful program has helped thousands of owners who otherwise could not have afforded surgery and has prevented many litters.
