Inuvik homeless shelter advisory (the 'organization') is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the societies act of northwest territories. As a registered charity the organization is exempt from the payment of income tax under section 149(1) of the income tax act. The organization's principal activity was providing emergency shelter for the homeless men and women in the beaufort delta region of the northwest territories. It received a prize for its operations and opened hope house in colaboration with irc and town of inuvik as a drop in meeting place for community members.
