Greater Trail Hospice Society is a charitable organization based in Trail, British Columbia, classified by the CRA under core health care. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, it reported $774K in revenue and $763K in expenditures.

Its funding that year was roughly 10% from donations, 76% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2024, 8 other registered charities reported granting it a combined $138K.

Compared with 739 health institutions of similar size, its share of spending on mission — charitable programs plus grants to other charities — ranked above 67% of peers. Its fundraising cost per donated dollar was lower than 88% of that peer group. None of its ten highest-paid positions cleared $40,000. The charity reported 1 permanent full-time position.

Revenue has grown substantially over its filings on record here, from $70K in 2020 to $774K in 2024.
