Friends of the VPL (FVPL) generates revenue through running of a bookstore and used book sales. Revenues are donated to the Vancouver Public Library in support of special programs included Children's Outreach Community Projects Special Collections Writer in Residence Artwork etc. FVPL also assists with author readings and provides volunteers for community and cultural events held at the main library and branches throughout the city.
