Food Hamper Program Summary The Food Hamper started in May 2020 as a result of the pandemic. We averaged around 86 hampers per month in 2024. Majority of hampers still going to single or 2 adult households. The cost of the food hamper program is covered largely by the Whitehorse Foodbank at a cost of $8360/month still. The program serves between 250-275 people a month in the Haines Junction and surrounding areas. Volunteers distribute the food once a month. The Village of Haines Junction still allows the Food Hamper program to use the recycling centre to do the distribution of food hamp…
