Eureka Camp Society is a charitable organization based in Richmond, British Columbia, classified by the CRA under public amenities. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending December 31, 2022, it reported $18K in revenue and $32K in expenditures. Spending exceeded revenue that year — the gap came out of reserves.

Its funding that year was roughly 95% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2023, 1 other registered charity reported granting it a combined $550.

None of its ten highest-paid positions cleared $40,000. The charity reported 1 permanent full-time position.

Revenue has declined over its filings on record here, from $120K in 2020 to $18K in 2022. Its filed list of directors and trustees shows 5 names.

In its own words

Specialized outdoor residential program for children and adolescents with invisible disabilities. Designed to support the development of social skills for children with significant social deficits. Focused on outdoor activities the high staff to child ratio provides a caring environment in which children can experience success in acquiring new outdoor skills as well as build friendships with their peers. However as a result of the pandemic we found it necessary to cancel all summer camps. We have plans to offer day camps to our campers during 202s.
