Environmental Defence's activity in 2023-2024 was focused mainly on our work in clean economy promoting livable communities protecting Canadians from toxics protecting clean water and addressing plastic pollution. Our clean economy work highlighted the environmental social and economic risks of fossil fuels development and highlighted the benefits of taking action on climate change. We also focused on the government’s commitment to phase out fossil fuel subsidies. And we engaged with the federal government’s commitments to put a cap on oil and gas emissions and implement clean electricity …
