Edmonton Recital Society is a charitable organization based in Edmonton, Alberta, classified by the CRA under education in the arts. It appears on the charity register the way hospitals, universities, and other publicly funded bodies do — to issue tax receipts — rather than as a donation-driven charity in the usual sense. In its fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, it reported $110K in revenue and $53K in expenditures.

Its funding that year was roughly 10% from donations, 76% from government. Government funding is the majority of its budget. In 2024, 1 other registered charity reported granting it a combined $3,373.

Compared with 1,540 education institutions of similar size, its share of spending on mission — charitable programs plus grants to other charities — ranked above 98% of peers. Its fundraising cost per donated dollar was lower than 100% of that peer group. Its reserves, measured in years of spending on hand, sat in the top decile of the group.

It reported gifts to 1 qualified donee totalling $600 in 2024, the largest being $600 to The Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival Association.
