Autism service dogs: have a vest and have public access with their client for our program the child must have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Parents who have an autistic child can apply from when they are 3 to 10 years old. We will only provide a dog to them when the child is between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. The purpose of teh dog is to provide grounding and support when a child is becoming dysregulated or is having a meltdown.
