The Dartmouth & District Pipe Band's purpose is to promote and preserve the musical tradition of Gaelic Culture in Nova Scotia by promoting musical instruction to young Nova Scotians. The band demonstrates the musical skills of its members at parades and competitions. The band teaches musical skills leadership and teamwork to young people.
