In its own words
The block parent program continues to promote and maintain a network of police-screened safe homes in the community of winnipeg. We educate children and parents on sign awareness and safety tips. Every block parent volunteer has been initially background-checked by the winnipeg police service and child abuse registry and has undergone renewals of these checks. Our program is operated by a volunteer board and part-time on-site staff person (12 hours per week).
