Bcihs mandate is to provide safe secure and affordable housing. Although our original and ongoing mandate is to focus on the housing needs of the urban indigenous community we have expanded our operations to include housing solutions for seniors youth women at risk persons living with mental illness and the homeless and/or homeless at risk populations. Recognizing that providing housing alone is not enough some bcihs buildings include on-site support services; in all of our housing developments we strive to help tenants connect to available resources in the community when needed.
