The Barrie Literacy Council assists adults in reaching their goals of independence employment further education and training by helping them improve their literacy skills. Every individual is assessed to identify skills and gaps from which a detailed learning plan is developed. We train volunteers to become skilled tutors who can work one on one with adult students and also offer this training to other community literacy organizations.
